The Hampton Hornets are on the road again on Monday to play the Sandy Creek Patriots at 5:30 p.m.

Hampton lost 13-3 to Adairsville on Saturday.

Malaysia Ponder was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamiya Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Sandy Creek beat Upson-Lee 6-1 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Breana Hopkins was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 18 over 6.2 innings pitched. Hopkins was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
