Basketball Recap: Chapman Comes Up Short

If Chapman was feeling good fresh off their 59-13 takedown of Bishop Ward on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chapman Irish had to suffer through a 65-25 loss at the hands of the Rossville Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rossville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylee Dick, who went 9 of 19 en route to 24 points and four steals. Dick's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shyanne Haehn, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Chapman now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Rossville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Chapman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-42 defeat against Wamego on the 17th. As for Rossville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-53 loss against Silver Lake on the 17th.
