Basketball Recap: Niagara Falls Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Amherst Central

After losing to Amherst Central the last time they met, Niagara Falls decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Niagara Falls Wolverines secured a 63-59 W over the Amherst Central Tigers on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolverines' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Tigers are ranked 25th).

The win got Niagara Falls back to even at 7-7. As for Amherst Central, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1.

Niagara Falls will challenge Lockport at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Amherst Central, they will venture away from home to take on Williamsville South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
