Volleyball Recap: Kelly Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kelly Catholic waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the West Hardin Oilers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Aspyn Gay had an outrageously good game as she had ten digs, eight aces, and two blocks. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. Abigail Brown was another key player, getting ten digs, seven kills, and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Kelly Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive games.

Kelly Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for West Hardin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Kelly Catholic and West Hardin will both be playing Buna the next time they take the court. The Oilers will host the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
