Baseball Game Preview: Newark Reds vs. Wayne Eagles

The Newark Reds will challenge the Wayne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Newark fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Geneva on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Wayne's offense. They fell just short of Mynderse Academy by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Newark, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Newark was able to grind out a solid win over Wayne when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 10-7. Will the Reds repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
