Lowell had lost six games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-15-1 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Hammond Morton Governors. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Governors, too.

DeVaughn Baiz was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miles Huber, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Hammond Morton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 8th.

On Hammond Morton's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Stevens, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Lowell will welcome North Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hammond Morton, they will head out on the road to challenge Andrean at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting 59ers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Governors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
