Soccer Game Preview: Edison vs. Rialto

The Edison Chargers will take on the Rialto Knights in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Rialto will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Edison extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Chargers' defense stepped up to hand Los Alamitos a 1-0 shutout. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Los Alamitos are ranked 648th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rialto hasn't lost a match since December 1st, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 1-0 win from a begrudging Rialto squad.

Rialto's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-3. As for Edison, their win bumped their record up to 4-0-1.
