Brunswick Academy is 8-2 against Kenston Forest since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Avery Griffin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Griffin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lexi Vaughan Howerton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Lynn Corum, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest hadn't done well against Brunswick Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Wednesday. The Kavaliers blew past the Vikings 13-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Kavaliers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Like Brunswick Academy, Kenston Forest also got a great game from a two-way player: Aubrey Mayton (2026). On the mound, Mayton (2026) pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Kelsey Marshall pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Mayton (2026) went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Marshall went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Marshall also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Thomas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Addie McDaniel (2025) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Kenston Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Brunswick Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Kenston Forest, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Brunswick Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like Kenston Forest struggles in that department as they've averaged .474. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
