Basketball Game Preview: Dowling Catholic Maroons vs. Southeast Polk Rams

The Dowling Catholic Maroons are taking a road trip to square off against the Southeast Polk Rams at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Dowling Catholic lost to Ankeny at home by a 63-48 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Southeast Polk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 63-57 to Urbandale.

Dowling Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Southeast Polk, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Dowling Catholic took their win against Southeast Polk in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 64-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dowling Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
