Basketball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Oaks

Ezekiel Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-1. They came out on top against the Oaks Mighty Oaks by a score of 89-76. The Knights' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ezekiel Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kelson Free out in front who shot 56% from the field en route to 25 points and six boards. Free continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wilson Eagerton, who went 7-for-9 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points.

Ezekiel Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Oaks fell to 4-1. They haven't had much luck with Ezekiel Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Oaks still got an impressive performance from Joey Allen, who posted 33 points. With that strong performance, Allen is now averaging an impressive 17 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ken Henderson, who scored 19 points.

Ezekiel Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ballard Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 20th. As for Oaks, they have already played their next contest, a 98-90 loss against LaGrange Academy on the 13th.
