The Lindbergh Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Tyee Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Lindbergh will be strutting in after a win while Tyee will be coming in after a loss.
Lindbergh will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Foster on Friday. Lindbergh blew past Foster 18-1. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Vincent Campos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Campos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Soto-Hernandez, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aaron Melendres-Rodriguez, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Lindbergh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Tyee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Interlake, falling 9-3. One positive for the Titans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Tyee's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lindbergh, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Tyee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lindbergh has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. It's a different story for Tyee, though, as they've only averaged .288. Will they be able to contain Lindbergh's hitters?
