Preview: Dade Christian Crusaders vs. Pine Knights
The Dade Christian Crusaders will be playing at home against the Pine Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Dade Christian suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Central by a score of 65-63. While losing is never fun, Dade Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Central is ranked 144th).
Kenvenson Malivert put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Cooper, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Pine waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 64-46 win over Somerset College Prep Academy.
Dade Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Pine, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
