HCYA will head out to challenge the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. HCYA is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
HCYA saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Ball by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for HCYA.

Taegan Lermann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she's hit this season.
In other batting news, Kiran Kyham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Yanaia Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Concordia Lutheran). They won by a run and slipped past The Woodlands Christian Academy 10-9.
The team relied heavily on Camryn Poche, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Shamburger, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Concordia Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
HCYA's record is now 9-2-1. As for Concordia Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Concordia Lutheran's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: HCYA hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. It's a different story for Concordia Lutheran, though, as they've only hit 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain HCYA's hitters?
Everything went HCYA's way against Concordia Lutheran in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as HCYA made off with a 12-2 victory. Will HCYA repeat their success, or does Concordia Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
