Recap: Diller-Odell Griffin vs. Lourdes Central Catholic Knights
The Diller-Odell Griffin lost against the Lourdes Central Catholic Knights back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Diller-Odell fell 58-46 to Lourdes Central Catholic. Diller-Odell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Diller-Odell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Myleigh Weers. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 52.2% of Diller-Odell's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedyn Hajek, who scored no points along with five assists and five steals.
Diller-Odell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Diller-Odell will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Southern at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Southern is coming into the match with seven straight losses at home, meaning Diller-Odell will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Lourdes Central Catholic will take on Sidney at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lourdes Central Catholic is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in their respective states (they are ranked 115th in Nebraska, while Sidney is ranked 315th in Iowa).
