Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Little River Academy). They walked away with a 42-35 win over the Rockdale Tigers on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bumblebees as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Little River Academy found their leader in underclassman Brody Allen, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. 111 of those passing yards were hauled in by Vincent Williams, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Little River Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Little River Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayvion White and Tyler Robinson. Little River Academy got some further help from Elijah Lavan: he made 16 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Radyn Hamilton, who rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Hamilton a new career-high in rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramiah Butler, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Little River Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Rockdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Little River Academy will welcome Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Little River Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. As for Rockdale, they will head out on the road to take on McGregor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockdale is facing McGregor at the right time seeing as McGregor is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
