Basketball Recap: Royal Valley Wins Going Away Against Santa Fe Trail

After losing to Santa Fe Trail the last time they met, Royal Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Royal Valley Panthers enjoyed a cozy 44-30 win over the Santa Fe Trail Chargers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Royal Valley found their leader in sophomore Panno Wahwassuck, who posted 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Samantha Klotz, who had seven points and 11 rebounds.

Royal Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Royal Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Santa Fe Trail, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
