Softball Recap: Forest Comes Up Short

Forest was the 14-7 winner over Scott Central when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Forest Bearcats came up short against the Scott Central Rebels on Saturday, falling 17-5. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Forest's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Scott Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats duke it out with the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Quitman has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something Forest will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Scott Central, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Sebastopol on the 1st.
