Recap: STX Saints vs. Economedes Jaguars
After a string of three wins, the STX Saints's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Economedes by a score of 49-46.
STX's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaac Martinez, who scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. The match was Martinez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Guillermo Moreno was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Even though they lost, STX were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Economedes only pulled down ten.
Economedes found their leader in underclassman Noah Enriquez, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Enriquez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Gomez, who scored 12 points.
STX's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Economedes, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Grulla the next time they take the court. Economedes will head out to face Grulla at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, while STX will head out to face them at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
