Volleyball Game Preview: Milpitas Trojans vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

The Milpitas Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Los Gatos Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Monday, Milpitas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Lincoln. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Milpitas wouldn't go down easily and took Lincoln into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-10, 25-20, 22-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Monta Vista 3-2.

Los Gatos was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-11, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Los Gatos' victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Milpitas, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Milpitas was able to grind out a solid victory over Los Gatos in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
