Basketball Recap: Union Takes a Loss

Union played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 86-32 defeat at the hands of the Daleville Broncos. The Rockets have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Union's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lamar Schwartz, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, and Zyler Ogden, who posted eight points and six rebounds. What's more, Schwartz also racked up six blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Hunter Suchyna continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Daleville, going 9 of 18 en route to 24 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Suchyna is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Bryson Sigler was another key player, putting up ten points.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Daleville, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Union will host Monroe Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season. Daleville has already played their next matchup, a 78-33 victory against Muncie Burris on the 1st.
