Volleyball Game Preview: Genesis Prep Panthers vs. Excel Christian Academy Spartans

The Genesis Prep Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Excel Christian Academy Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Genesis Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Excel Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Back in September, Genesis Prep got the win against Web of Wisdom by a conclusive 3-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wizards recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Genesis Prep was: they took every set by at least 25 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Meanwhile, Excel Christian Academy lost 3-0 to Winter Haven Christian on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-8, 25-9.

Excel Christian Academy's loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Genesis Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Genesis Prep beat Excel Christian Academy 3-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
