Baseball Game Preview: Lennox Academy Panthers vs. New Roads Jaguars

For the second straight game, Lennox Academy will face off against New Roads. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Lennox Academy's offense. They lost 11-0 to New Roads on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For New Roads' part, the result came thanks to Xavier Walker's shutout, as he gave up just a hit.

On the hitting side, New Roads got a big performance out of Donovan Eastwood, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Asamino Spong was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

New Roads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

New Roads has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Lennox Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-11.
