Softball Recap: Odessa Comes Up Short

Odessa came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Midway Panthers, falling 22-1. The Bronchos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Odessa has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. The win was the fourth in a row for Midway, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Odessa will face off against Timber Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Odessa has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Midway, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lake Ridge at 1:00 p.m. Midway's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Lake Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
