Soccer Game Preview: Ingleside vs. Rockport-Fulton

Ingleside hasn't had much luck against Rockport-Fulton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ingleside Mustangs will challenge the Rockport-Fulton Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

Ingleside is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Friday, they were much more limited against London on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while the Pirates are ranked 213th).

Meanwhile, while the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Rockport-Fulton who was credited with the win on Tuesday. Rockport-Fulton got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Bishop's three.

Rockport-Fulton's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Ingleside, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Ingleside took their win against Rockport-Fulton when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ingleside since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
