Football Game Preview: Nativity BVM Green Wave vs. Lackawanna Trail Lions

The Nativity BVM Green Wave will head out to challenge the Lackawanna Trail Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Nativity BVM has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Lackawanna Trail will arrive with seven straight wins.

Nativity BVM's last matchup with Marian Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Green Wave were outmatched by Marian Catholic and fell 41-14. The Green Wave were down 41-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Lackawanna Trail got the win against Riverside on Friday by a conclusive 40-14. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Nativity BVM better keep an eye on Isaac Ryon. He was instrumental in Lackawanna Trail's win, rushing for 370 yards and five scores on only 13 carries. Ryon is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

Lackawanna Trail was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 503 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lackawanna Trail's record is now 9-1. As for Nativity BVM, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Nativity BVM was taken down by Lackawanna Trail 47-20 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Green Wave were down 27-6.
