Basketball Recap: Elk City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cache last Thursday, Elk City came back down to earth. The Elk City Elks took a 47-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Casady Cyclones on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Casady to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davis Currie, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Beckham Kerr, who went 6 of 7 en route to 13 points.

Elk City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Casady, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-14.

Elk City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harding Fine Arts at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Casady, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-39 defeat against Cache on the 25th.
