Basketball Recap: Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders vs. Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots
The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders lost against the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sunshine Bible Academy took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. Sunshine Bible Academy has struggled against the Patriots recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Sunshine Bible Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trey Thieman, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Thieman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owan Watson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Sunshine Bible Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sunshine Bible Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Mitchell Christian is ranked 144th, while the Crusaders are ranked 142nd). As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pirates at 7:45 p.m. Highmore/Harrold is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
