Volleyball Recap: Kingston Comes Up Short

Kingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sikeston Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Sikeston found their leader in freshman Londyn Mitchell, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Mitchell.

Kingston's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sikeston, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Coming up, Kingston will head out on the road to square off against Herculaneum at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sikeston, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bunker on the 13th.
