Preview: Liberty North Eagles vs. Kearney Bulldogs
Liberty North and Kearney are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Kearney took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty North, who comes in off a win.
Liberty North gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They secured a 53-47 W over Raytown.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Kearney, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-44 loss to Staley on Monday. Kearney has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Kearney saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brooke Paalhar, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Paalhar scored a full 36.4% of Kearney's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Addison Taylor, who scored 10 points.
Liberty North's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Kearney, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Liberty North against Kearney when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 52-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
