Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Gramercy Christian

Gramercy Christian hadn't done well against Trinity Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Gramercy Christian Warriors walked away with a 45-35 win over the Trinity Christian Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Gramercy Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Tribble out in front who posted eight points in addition to 11 boards and four steals. Tribble is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Diego De Hoyos was another key player, putting up seven points and nine boards.

Gramercy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only pulled down one offensive rebound.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian lost, don't look at Drew Williams. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 on his way to 12 points.

Gramercy Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.

Gramercy Christian will welcome New Bern Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bethel Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
