Softball Recap: Montgomery Vikings vs. Santa Rosa Panthers
After only one run in their last game, Montgomery made sure to put some runs up on the board against Santa Rosa on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 back in April.
Natalia Campos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Siena Quattrocchi was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Gumm, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Rosa, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
