Sandpoint scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Lakeland Hawks by a score of 13-12. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Sandpoint got a massive performance out of Cadence Skibitsky, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Skibitsky continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Abi Miller also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Sandpoint's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lakeland, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hawks beat Sandpoint by a score of 13-3 later that day.
