Softball Recap: Oak Hill Triumphs

Oak Hill won the last time they faced PikeView and things went their way on Saturday too. Oak Hill walked away with a 5-1 win over PikeView. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Mary Butcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Meeka Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Oak Hill now has a winning record of 4-3. As for PikeView, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Oak Hill will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against South Charleston at 6:00 p.m. As for PikeView, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 defeat against Belfry on the 29th.
