Basketball Recap: Nome-Beltz Comes Up Short

If Nome-Beltz was feeling good fresh off their 59-22 takedown of Houston two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nome-Beltz Nanooks fell just short of the Bethel Warriors by a score of 42-39 on Friday. The Nanooks haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Nome-Beltz still got an impressive performance from Benny Lie, who posted 15 points. Alora Stasensko was another key player, putting up ten points.

Nome-Beltz's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Bethel, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nome-Beltz beat Bethel by a score of 53-46 on Saturday.
