Basketball Recap: Northglenn's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

If Northglenn was riding high fresh off their 67-45 takedown of Gateway on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northglenn Norsemen lost to the Northfield Nighthawks on the road by a 82-64 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 35th).

When it comes to explaining why Northglenn lost, don't look at Noah Scrivani. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 17 on his way to 28 points and three steals. Scrivani's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of ?? ?, who posted 12 points.

Judah Michael was his usual excellent self, putting up 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals for Northfield. Michael is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Ensor, who put up 11 points and seven boards.

With the defeat, Northglenn broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for Northfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

After both having extra time off, Northglenn and Mountain Range will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. One thing working in Northglenn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Northfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 101-34 win against Gateway on the 19th.
