Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Christian Eagles vs. Riverdale Baptist Crusaders

The Evergreen Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Evergreen Christian lost to Calvary Temple on the road by a 57-38 margin. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Evergreen Christian had strong showings from Adriana Jenkins, who posted eight points and three steals, and Maddie Wivell, who scored eight points in addition to five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Jenkins has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malia Morris, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, Riverdale Baptist faced Mt. Zion Prep Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Riverdale Baptist lost 47-24 to Mt. Zion Prep Academy. The contest marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Evergreen Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Riverdale Baptist, they moved to 18-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
