Football Recap: Southwestern Warriors vs. Cooper Jaguars

Southwestern and Cooper squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Southwestern had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Cooper Jaguars 56-15. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Jaguars are ranked first).

Cooper was led to victory by Cam O'Hara and Keagan Maher. O'Hara threw for 179 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Maher gained 102 total yards and three touchdowns. Maher has been hot , having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. A healthy portion of O'Hara's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Jaidan Combs.

The defeat snapped Southwestern's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Cooper, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Southwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cooper, they will take on Highlands on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Cooper: 14.8, Highlands: 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
