Baseball Recap: Dover Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dover had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Waukomis Chiefs as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Longhorns have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dover's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Waukomis, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.

Coming up, Dover will head out to take on Okarche at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Longhorns 3.3, the Warriors 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Waukomis, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 defeat against Pioneer-Pleasant Vale on the 3rd.
