There's no place like home for Chico, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They breezed past the Shasta Wolves to the tune of  40-10 on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 20  points or more this season.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chico to victory, but perhaps none more so than   John Bernardez, who threw for 168 yards and three  TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Those  168  passing yards gave  Bernardez a new career-high.  Henry Heckathorn was  Bernardez's top target, picking up 106 receiving yards and one  score.
Chico pushed their record up to 7-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Shasta,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will challenge Foothill at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.38  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Shasta, they will face off against Red Bluff at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 12.2  points per game  this season, so the Wolves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
