The Wesleyan Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prince Avenue Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wesleyan, who comes in off a win.
Wesleyan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Providence Christian Academy, posting a 48-7 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Storm are ranked 412th).

Maddox Gartland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.
Wesleyan didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Providence Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 43.8%. The Wolves have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
Wesleyan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Coleman Eldridge and Brice Gillis.
Meanwhile, Prince Avenue Christian entered their game against Hebron Christian back in October without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wolverines were beaten by the Lions 43-6. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.
Wesleyan will have to contain Andrew Beard as he made an impact in Prince Avenue Christian's last game. He rushed for 93 yards and one TD.
The win made it two in a row for Wesleyan and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Wesleyan has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Prince Avenue Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 170.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wesleyan might still be hurting after the 35-10 loss they got from Prince Avenue Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2021. Thankfully for the Wolves, Aaron Philo (who threw for 349 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
