Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Canterbury

Canterbury had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Belen Jesuit Wolverines. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Belen Jesuit's batters probably weren't too happy with JT Huether, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk). Huether has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anthony Meady, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adams Mejia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Canterbury's record is now 12-9. As for Belen Jesuit, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Canterbury and Belen Jesuit should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 108th) will meet McArthur (ranked 527th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Belen Jesuit will challenge Sunset at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (97 vs. 326).
