Gray's Creek entered their tilt with Lumberton on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in March.

Hannah Welsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amber Miller was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. Saniyah Leach was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Gray's Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Gray's Creek's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lumberton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Gray's Creek will face off against South View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lumberton, they will challenge Topsail at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
