Baseball Recap: Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian Comes Up Short

Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Flying Dutchmen fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-6 on Friday. If the Flying Dutchmen were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Josh Groen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Logan Bleyenberg also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian will host Canby at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against MACCRAY at 4:30 p.m.
