Climax-Scotts had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the White Pigeon Chiefs with a sharp 21-6 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Holly Talbert, who scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Addi Dzwik, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

White Pigeon now has a losing record of 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Climax-Scotts beat the Chiefs by a score of 26-13 later that day.
