Softball Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Pinecrest's offense. They came up short against the Scotland Fighting Scots on Thursday, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Scots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.

Pinecrest's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Scotland, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Coming up, Pinecrest will host Hoke County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bucks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Scotland, they will head out to challenge Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Scots are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
