Soccer Recap: West Ashley Comes Up Short

West Ashley faced James Island in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was James Island who was credited with the win. West Ashley were not able to make up for their loss to James Island from their previous meeting back in February of 2019.

Harper Hanna and Addison Powers scored both of West Ashley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

With the defeat, West Ashley broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2-2. As for James Island, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

West Ashley and James Island will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time West Ashley sees the pitch they'll take on Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on April 1. As for James Island, their break will end when they face Philip Simmons at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
