Football Recap: Beckville Skates Past Hawkins with Ease

Beckville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hawkins Hawks 50-14. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Jorden Prince was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 112 yards and three scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Hicks, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Beckville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Beckville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Hawkins' QB won't forget Dillan Koger anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Koger has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Beckville received some extra help from Tommy Heard, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Beckville's record is now 5-3. As for Hawkins, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Beckville will face off against Union Grove at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Hawkins, they will square off against Big Sandy at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Hawks will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
