Softball Recap: Wren Extends Winning Streak to Five

Wren hadn't done well against Palmetto recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Wren came out on top against Palmetto by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Hurricanes, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory (which was Wren's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wren will head out to challenge Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wren's pitchers better be ready for this one: Westside has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Palmetto, they will face off against Woodruff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
