One thing working in Bishop Stang's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Last Friday, Bishop Stang was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Fenwick, taking the game 57-49.
Meanwhile, Somerset Berkley Regional faced Old Rochester Regional in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Somerset Berkley Regional's tough 71-51 defeat to Old Rochester Regional on Friday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Somerset Berkley Regional has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Somerset Berkley Regional saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Colten Pacheco, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. It was the first time this season that Pacheco scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mason Medeiros, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Bishop Stang's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.
