Baseball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Thrall Tigers

The Troy Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Thrall Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated after six games, but that won't be the case come Saturday.

Thrall's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Troy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Troy blew past Florence 8-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Thrall faced off against Orangefield on Thursday. Thrall sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Orangefield.

Thrall pushed their record up to 9-0-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Troy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Troy took their win against Thrall in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 12-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
